This beautiful little bird was discovered on the island of Bali by Baron Rothschild in 1912.
They get their name from their scales which are large, pointy and ridged.
The blue–eared glossy starling builds its nest in tree holes or inside the large stick nests of the scared ibis.
The name of the Brahminy starling comes from the similarity of the bird’s head and neck crest to the Brahmin hairstyle of some Hindus.
