The Belfast Zoo team goes wild for Sport Relief

Graeme Williamson, David Waite, Paul Higginson, Brian the lion, Gayle Turley and Allan Galway taking part in the Sport Relief mile at Belfast Zoo.

01 March 2012

Today six members of the Belfast Zoo team ran a mile together to encourage the people of Belfast to enter the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 25 March.

Graeme Williamson, Allan Galway, David Waite, Paul Higginson, Gayle Turley and Aaron Bickerstaff each ran a mile through the zoo, past elephants, giraffes, gorillas, Sumatran tiger and Andean bear.

The animals looked on and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast as their keepers conquered the steep route that slopes up the side of Cavehill.

There’s less than a month to go until the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile, so enter today to guarantee your place at the starting line. It’s a great day out for all the family and the best thing is everyone gets a medal at the end of it. So, on your marks, get set, go to www.sportrelief.com and enter the Belfast Sport Relief Mile or one of dozens of Mile events happening all over Northern Ireland.
