Striped hyaena

In 2015, Belfast Zoo became home to a striped hyaena! Hyaenas are not members of the dog or cat families. Instead they have a family all of their own, Hyaenidae.

Getting to the zoo

Belfast Zoo is located on Antrim Road in north Belfast, just off the M2 motorway. We are 15 minutes from Belfast city centre by car and are easy to reach by bus or train.
