Our education team can also provide off-site visits at a venue of your choice.

This outreach service is available from September to March (inclusive).

It includes:

  • a visit from an education officer and selected small animals
  • a curriculum-based Meet the Animals session.

The Meet the Animals session lasts for 45 minutes (Key Stage 1) or 60 minutes (Key Stage 2 and 3)

Our talks vary depending on the age of your group.

The price of our off-site visits also varies, depending on the size of your group and the distance of your location from the zoo.

The basic rate is:

  • up to 15 miles from the zoo - 75p per person with a minimum charge of £44
  • between 15 and 30 miles - £1.11 per person with a minimum charge of £72.50
  • 30 miles or more - £1.59 per person with a minimum charge of £94.

Belfast Zoo is home to more than 1,200 animals and 140 different species.

The majority of our animals are in danger in their natural habitat.
