Belfast Zoo has welcomed the news of red squirrels born at Ballykinler Training Area. The squirrels are part of a breeding programme to increase the population of the native species across forests in Northern Ireland.

We are celebrating the arrival of an endangered iguana which hatched in early January. Marking the first new addition to the zoo of 2021, the iguana’s arrival is particularly special as it is the first of its kind to be born at the zoo.
