Another magical Dreamnight at the zoo!

Dreamnight 2010 was Belfast Zoo`s biggest Dreamnight yet, with around 200 families that enjoyed a very special evening on Friday 4 June. Families were greeted by Lord Mayor, Councillor Pat Convery, and UTV`s Julian Simmons.

Families from the Northern Ireland Hospice, Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children and the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children were invited to this exclusive charity event at the zoo, which took place from 6 - 9pm. This is Belfast`s sixth annual Dreamnight, and zoos all over the world also take part in the event.

Activities included lots of special feeding times, meeting reptiles and education animals, face painting, blow-piping with the vets, a bouncy castle and drum workshops. Families were also greeted with displays of vintage vehicles, emergency service vehicles and delorean cars. Food and drink was provided and performances from Mr Hullaballoo and lucky dips from Dora the Explorer and Postman Pat also kept children entertained.

Zoo manager Mark Challis was delighted at how the well the event went. `We are thrilled that all of the families involved in Dreamnight 2010 had such a fantastic time. The zoo is a wonderful place to hold an event for such special children. We would like to thank all of the companies that contributed towards Dreamnight 2010 and the brilliant goody bags that all children received as they left. We would also like to thank all of the staff and volunteers who took part in the event.`

Congratulations to Luke Harkin who won the Helicopter ride over Belfast, with Aero Heli.
