Vending machines

We have vending machines in the visitor centre. You can buy drinks, confectionery and crisps before you begin your Belfast Zoo adventure.

Picnic areas

With the stunning setting of Cave Hill and spectacular views of Belfast, it is the perfect place for a picnic. Whatever the weather it is fun to eat outdoors and there are lots of picnic areas available. You can purchase ‘grab and go’ meals from the zoo’s cafes to enjoy in the picnics areas.

We kindly ask that visitors put their rubbish in bins which are located around the zoo site.

Allergies

Catering

Our catering facilities (the Lion’s Den Restaurant and the Treetop Tearoom) are operated by our catering partner, Amadeus Food Ltd. Amadeus follow legal food safety protocols and provide consumer information and advice on allergens in the catering facilities.

If you have any specific dietary or allergy requirements, contact us prior to your visit or speak to a member of the team on the day who will be happy to advise and provide you with help and advice.

Animal areas

Although animals are usually fed at distance from the public, the produce we feed our animals may contain human allergens including nuts.

Visitor refreshments

As visitors are permitted to bring their own food into the zoo, providing an allergen-free environment is not possible. Visitors are asked to place any rubbish in bins provided throughout the zoo.
