Toilets

Our toilets are located at the:

  • main zoo entrance
  • Ark Café
  • elephant and giraffe walk
  • Mountain Tea House.

Disabled toilets

All our toilets have wheelchair access.

Baby changing facilities

Baby changing facilities are located in the Ark Café.

Recycling facilities

Permanent recycling banks are located in the main car park. The banks are suitable for glass and plastic.

Unwanted clothes can be left at the zoo's reception desk where they are used for animal enrichment activities with our chimpanzees and gorillas.

Mobility scooters

We have a limited number of electric mobility scooters for customer use.

You must be a member of Shopmobility in order to use the scooters and your membership card is required on admission to the zoo.

They are free to use but must be booked in advance by calling us on 028 9077 6277 (extension 201).

Due to essential maintenance and repair, scooters may not always be available.

Our animals

Belfast Zoo is home to more than 1,200 animals and 140 different species.

The majority of our animals are in danger in their natural habitat.

Belfast Zoo opened in 1934 and is one of Northern Ireland's top attractions.

It receives more than 300,000 visitors a year.
